Mudspike 3rd Annual DCS Fall Fly-In

It’s been a year since our last Mudspike DCS Fall Fly-In. Although we might be stretching the definition of Fall a little, we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Mudspike DCS Fall Fly-In on the weekend of December 2-3, 2017.

DCS World 1.5.X and 2.1.X servers will be running with various sandbox-style multiplayer missions. Server connection details will be posted the week before the event as well as a proposed schedule of mission events or themes.

The Friday evening before the event we will be hosting the missions early. This would be a great time to check in, check your install and ability to connect to the servers and fly with some people in a very casual environment. Saturday and Sunday will follow that same pattern but Friday is an unofficial early start.

Virtual pilots of all experience levels are welcome!

If you have been putting off playing in a multiplayer environment then this is a perfect opportunity to give it a try. Even if it is only to log in and be part of a group, many of us are more than willing to help out, offer advice or work in some training time over the course of the event. None of us are experts on all of the modules in DCS World but many of us are willing to learn and share what we might know. (BeachAV8R edit – I might be there to show you what NOT to do as I demonstrate walking around after ejecting..) We do have a few real world pilots (civilian and military) and they are often willing to share their knowledge as long as it does not cross some conflict-of-interest or classified lines. It is quite a thing to work through (or even to listen in to) a cooperative combat environment with an Air Force officer in charge or to talk aviation with a skilled, learned commercial aviation pilot.

Some Additional Information

If you would like to put up a server, host or submit a mission for hosting, please send the @staff a private message and we will work out the details. We welcome all suggestions and help!

In the event of a major patch (DCS World 2.5, the release of Razbams Harrier, etc) we will do our best to accommodate the update but we would suggest that any patches/updates that occur on the Thursday/Friday before the event may not make it to the servers/mission designers in time for testing or adaptation.

Voice communications on TeamSpeak 3 are strongly recommended. Rest assured that although we all hate the sound of our own voices, we never have a problem with the sounds of someone else. We have a policy of having an open and friendly voice communication space. Connection information can be found in the Events tab at the top of the forum page or here.

If you have any requests for a mission or module that you would like to see, let us know in the comments below and we can make sure that there are some client spots available in at least some of the missions. If you are looking to learn more about a specific system or tactic, please let us know in the comments and we will see what we can do.

We will make an effort to have at least a few examples of all of the DCS World modules available in each mission. If you have a particular preference, we can do our best to meet demand for that module.

As usual, we will put up an AAR/Stories Fly-In thread in the AAR portion of the forums for screenshots, stories or discussion during the event.

Rules of The Road

In order to ensure fun play for everyone, there are some ground rules and/or guidelines listed below. In general, if a player is disrupting everyone else’s good time, they will be kicked and/or banned. We have never had to kick or ban anyone at Mudspike, and we’d really like to keep that trend going.

  • Shoot to Kill, Play to Have Fun. It’s not just a motto, it’s…ok, well, actually it is just a motto, but it’s a pretty good one. Play hard, but play nice and be fair;
  • No team-killing. Most (if not all) missions can be assumed to be CO-OP focused or CO-OP friendly with no adversary client positions unless specified in the title/briefing. If you feel the need to go fangs out, coordinate with players ahead of time and set up a PvP mission but at the very least, you are required to have the permission of everyone involved and to move off to an unoccupied area of the map;
  • No killing of the Tanker. We all know that tanking is a pain but please don’t take that out on the tanker, even if it is ‘an accident’ or ‘they made fun of my mother’;
  • No obscene language, TS3 or text. Not all folks enjoy obscene language, even if meant in good humor. Other folks may have friends/family reading the chat messages over their shoulder or listening in on external speakers and may hear what you intended as a closed room comment;
  • PLEASE use push-to-talk. Mouth-breathers and keyboard clacking can be very distracting for others;
  • Read the chat bar. Respect those who might not be on TS3. Remember to send text messages for important comms in addition to broadcasting over TS3 as not everyone may not be on TS3 or in the same channel. Be sure to know which key is used to access chat for the DCS modules you will be flying;
  • Runway/Carrier Operations.  The standard rules used in previous fly-ins:
  1. There is an active runway in use as decided by the in-game ATC (who will at least make some effort to send you in the right direction). If there is doubt (or ATC is being quiet because someone else is taxiing), feel free to follow them to the active runway;
  2. Make an effort to announce on Teamspeak, or in chat, when you are about to take the runway or are on final and then announce when you are clear (landed and off the runway or are wheels up). Clear the runway/deck as fast as possible and then announce it (ie: “Skippy5 is clear of the active runway!”);
  3. With a carrier spot, initially select a spectators position and make sure that you are not spawning in on top of anyone (the deck is ‘clear’) and check in on Teakspeak/chat. When you do spawn in, if you are not taking off with the initial load of weapons/fuel, fold your wings and immediately taxi to a position that does not occupy the launch/landing portions of the deck (there are such spaces beside or behind the superstructure/tower);
  4. Access to the active runway is by priority order:
  • Emergency (damage or low fuel);
  • Landing;
  • Taking off:
  • Landing;

  1. Count me in!

  2. When I saw this post I blurted out Fly-in funk yea! and the date to my wife in my best “stand back woman, this is what I do” voice.

    She went in the other room muttering “Yeah maybe.”

    So all in all I think it went well and I am looking forward to it.

    Hey Beach do you think we will be Harrier-ing for it? Inquiring minds…

  3. Server…
    Hollo Pointe
    v1.5.latest missions for COOP and if Red joins some H2H.
    We will host -
    Erl Sis
    Kill Fighters
    Kill Transports
    NAVEX

    And, of course -
    The Highway

  4. Well. I will.

    Just in time to have a fast moving strike airframe. Count me in!

  6. I asked for that…

  7. homealone

  8. But to answer your question - I certainly hope so. I mean, the Harrier looks great and certainly seems pretty darn complete, but I’ve literally scratched 1% of what it does (engines and flight controls). I haven’t loaded a weapon yet, tried out the NAV stuff beyond TACAN, or really explored the MFDs at all. So you definitely can’t use my opinion as the judge of completeness.

  9. Looking forward to it. Stocking up on jack daniels for the evening, strong coffee for the early morning (or when jack d. hampers my speech too much) Berocca for when i wake, new earings fr the wife to let me have mancave weekend.

    Ka-50, Mi-8, baguette, f-5, ABBA aeronautics, p51 and hopefully the av8.

    Good times

    I can fly SAR birds for all you fast air types :stuck_out_tongue:

  11. Hey, it could be a good way to showcase… uhm… those… how are they called… Personalized skins? :stuck_out_tongue:
    Pluggity Plug!

  12. I was thinking this…

  13. Someone needs to provide a link to all of them. The way skins in multiplayer currently work is you can select whichever skin you like that is available to that country. Everyone with that skin installed will see it, everyone else will just see the default skin.

  14. I tell myself that every friggin’ day.

  15. I got that covered…
    I did one thread with the requests, one with the outcome and one with all the links…

  16. I spent at least 20 hours trying to get that stupid Su33 carrier mission to work just so I (yes “I”…because it’s all about ME) could play with the wonderful new Su33 model with friends. And it never happened :frowning: So, yeah, I am in if I get any of those days off and will try to schedule a slot to host it.

  17. This could be useful to someone.

  18. Aginor says:

    I’ll try and be there. If I can get my PC fixed until then that is.
    The Fly-Ins were quite fun the last few times. :slight_smile:

  19. Also just a heads up. I plan to have my Server up as in past years, but I think I’m going to leave 1.5 in the capable hands of @WreckingCrew and focus my energies on Nevada and perhaps Normandy.

  20. Dangit, there goes even more money now.

  21. Hey WC, do you know offhand what equipment is used in those missions? I’m about as rusty as can be, and badly need some remedial flight training. Thanks.

    The Hollo Pointe server will host these mission in DCS v1.5 (with latest version available). In every case, read the briefing. RTFB

    :::

    Erl Sis Urassis
    Blue: A-10A/C, F-15C, M-2000C, UH-1H, Ka-50;
    Red: Su-27, Su-25A/T
    Combined Arms
    F10 ALL, Labels Off, Winter, Start 0800 10JAN
    +++
    Summary
    Red Democratic Republic captured oil sites and is selling crude to finance their advances. The RDR is threatening Krasnordar-Pashovsky Airbase.
    Blue Liberation Front must strike back against the oil facilities to stop the enemy finances. Stop the flow of oil and the RDR will collapse.
    NO MANPADS. Fast movers have wingmen.
    +++

    • This mission has turned into a classic. It features a great Blue A-10 experience in a low-level ground threat environment, clustered targets for cluster bombs, and enemy-tank priorities if Blue Combined Arms wants to travel south. Blue and Red fast movers add an air combat experience and threats to the A-10s; the enemy AI fast movers will keep on coming as long as their opponents stay in the theater.
    • Red Combined Arms can win this mission with the armor and artillery.

    :::

    Kill Fighters
    Blue: F-15C, A-10A/C
    Combined Arms
    F10 All, Labels Optional, Visual Recon On, Start 0600 21JUN
    +++
    Summary
    Blue F-15Cs intercept Red bombers and fighters. A-10Cs destroy Red artillery south of Zugdidi River.
    +++

    • A-10 pilots don’t be fooled by the title. There is a lot of fun to be had in destroying the Red ground forces – just take care of that air defense missile threat first.
    • Originally designed as a Blue F-15C coop, your target is a 3-flight of Su-27’s. But your base is under attack by Red bombers with cruise missiles. It is a target rich environment, you have your orders, do you want to win the mission or be a cowboy?

    :::

    Kill Transports
    Blue: F-15C w/ Wingmen
    F10 All, Labels Optional, COOP Air, Summer Morning Start 0600 17JUN
    +++
    Summary
    Two groups of four Red RDR Transports are heading southeast from Krymsk, along the coastal canyons, to Kutaisi.
    The first group flew from Krymsk at mission start time. The second group is expected to rotate within 30 minutes of the first. Both groups are heading to Kutaisi.
    Kill the transports before they can supply troops and equipment to Kutaisi Airbase.
    +++

    • All around fun F-15C action. You start from Maykop cold or warm or air start, and have a way to go south to the coast. Red transports are headed southeast along the coast and must be intercepted. If too many transports slip by then the mission is lost. You have lots of fuel, lots of missiles, and lots of threats.
    • I would love to run this one a couple of times with the F-15C experts here. This mission has gotten a bunch of love from me and @Dark_Star over the past few months. We know the F-15C systems but need instruction on how to fight. I find it difficult to pick up Red fast movers when they are down low.

    :::

    NAVEX
    Blue: F-15C, M-2000C
    F10 All, Labels Optional, Start 0700 13AUG11, 3Hr Timeout
    +++
    Summary
    Take off from Kutaisi Airbase. Fly up the coast to Novorossiysk and turn in to land at Krasnodar-Pashkovsky.
    Enemy fighters will launch when you reach certain navigation points. Civilian aircraft are not targets, do not fire on civilian/unidentified targets!
    Can you manage your flight’s fuel to Novorossiysk?
    +++

    • Pick your enemy aircraft. Blue COOP. Don’t let the end bite you in the ass.

    :::

    The Highway
    Blue: A-10A/C, F-15C, M-2000C, Hawk, L-39C/ZA, Su-25A/T, Ka-50, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H
    Combined Arms
    F10 ALL, Start 0900 23JUN
    +++
    Summary
    Recapture Novorossiysk base to win
    You are northeast of Krasnodar airbase
    Start at the northern tip of the lake
    Fly down The Highway – stay low!
    SNAFU
    Escape and survival is the mission objective. The scenario follows a successful combat run above Krasnodar air base. All elements hit their assigned targets. Now, the A-10C’s are RTB when the entire region erupts with RDR air defense sites.
    Unfortunately, you have few weapons left and one path to the coast.
    The one escape route is ID’d south of Krasnodar and the waypoints are in the CDU. The lake exit point is marked with an illumination bomb.
    Follow the waypoints to safety to the coast. Stay low.
    The route is along the major highway in the region - a four lane highway - and all civilian traffic has been banned so any vehicles are fair game - weapons free.
    It won’t last long and it may not be pretty. Good luck. F-15Cs will trigger Red AI jets when Feet Wet. Don’t let us down, Eagle drivers!
    Timeout @12 Hours
    +++

    • The classic The Highway
    • STAY LOW. Sweet chariot. Red can win this with Combined Arms, so can Blue. But this is all about flying your jet down The Highway and ripping up the Red vehicles that never seem to stop. Repair at Gelendzhik, if you can land on that short runway. Blue helicopters can have a lot of fun in this, especially if the Hawgs take out the Red highway shooters. The objective is Feet Wet and attack Novorossiysk to defeat Red by taking the base. When Blue fast movers go Feet Wet then Red AI jets will launch.
  23. What aircraft would you like added to the above missions? I’ll see what I can do.

  24. This year I should SHOULD make it- having flown recently moslty the Huey, I’d love to be part of SAR operation with it, when otherwise no Huey roles are specified.

    If that makes any sense. Sorry, too little coffee available this morning.

  25. Cib says:

    I need a chopper too. Huey for preference but Mi-8 will do fine, Cib’s taxi’s will be available for hire :slight_smile:

    Too much coffee here, had to be up early to take my wife for a train free day and night for me YAAY

  26. I’ve been dabbling on and off with Combined Arms, and though I still don’t know what to do with it most of the time, I’d love a chance to learn more.

  27. I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it. I’ve got evening shifts that weekend.

  28. That looks like a great line-up of missions WC. If I would suggest another aircraft, perhaps the F-5E. No worries otherwise.

  29. sobek says:

    Hopefully i’ll be able to stop by.

  30. if i can ill be poppin my dcs multiplayer cherry for this :grin:

  31. Will try to make an appearance, if I can put down SuperBug work for a few hours, lol.

  32. Hmm, I wonder if we should set up a group (perhaps two, as both @near_blind and @WreckingCrew are kindly hosting). That was it will be easy for people to hit ‘Join’ themselves and then if any coordination is needed (i.e. what slots do people want to fly, or here’s a group announcement etc) then it’ll be nice to have a proper distribution list to use?

  33. sobek says:

    Will both servers run in parallel or do you plan to run them intermittently?

    Also what will you guys (players, not hosters :wink:)be focusing on? The reason i ask is that i want to gauge interest for the v2.1 server and if i should redownload v1.5 ahead of time as i currently don’t have it on my machine.

  34. Parallel. I dunno about Crew but it costs me nothing to leave it on.

    Generally the way it’s gone in the past is one server will be popular for a few hours, people will cycle off to grab food, appease spouses and or offspring, etc, cycle to the other server, repeat.

  35. Find an acetylene torch to…well…you know…

  36. sobek says:

    There’s more humane ways to get rid of your spouse, y’know? :slight_smile:

  37. Seems like the Fly-in is always about the same time as a major update, and this year appears to be no exception. (Thank you for that BTW, as this update should include the Harrier).

    Assuming the big update is OpenBeta, will you be running any OB servers with the Harrier in any missions. Harrier and Viggen might be fun in The Highway! :metal:

  38. Can we have some f111 slots paweeease?

  39. Super Hornet Slots

  40. sobek says:

    You are an evil man. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

  41. Fridge says:

    Right now, with the release of the Harrier rumoured to be happening on the 29th of November, it is looking like the DCS Workd Open Alpha branch will be moving to 2.3. I think that it is pretty safe to say that some missions will be set up to take advantage of the AV-8B Harrier when that happens - we are all going to be so excited to have another module to play with :-).

    We will still have servers up with DCS 1.5 but will be making a 2.3 decision on or around Wednesday.

  42. Cib says:

    The CSAR birds will be busy while your all learning how it works :slight_smile:

  43. Need a NTTR Version of the Highway.

  44. Yes, we do, SkateZilla…
    There is a four-lane out of Boulder City south to Searchlight.
    Oh yeah, this will be fun. Start at around Luaghlin Airport, head north over the lake. You will be able to cut left and fly up the four-lane, or stay in the canyon to Hoover Dam. You must stay low and on path or the enemy air defense will get you.
    Don’t look for this next week, though. It’ll take a while before it is ready to fly.

    This weekend we’ll add the new jets to The Highway v1.5.7. F-5 aircraft included. Also will add a/c to the NAVEX mission.

  45. Fridge says:

    Sorry. That was not well written on my part. 1.5 servers will be up for sure, as well as a 2.2 server. Depending on how the release of 2.3 goes we will likely move the 2.2 server to 2.3 but that ‘decision’ will be made after Wednesday depending on how the server admins feel.

  46. What’s the diff between the F-5E and the F-5E-3, for Client aircraft?

  47. F-5E-3 should be the player controllable version

  48. The Black Veal Squadron (BVS) and 75th VFS will both be attending. To this end, I have made our skins available for download as well. You’ll know the BVS - we’re the ones whose aircraft look like cows! If only Gateway computers were still around; we could use the sponsorship! :laughing:

  49. Somebody had to do it…

  50. OMG, that’s hilarious! :rofl::rofl:

  51. Hi, @HomeFries, are you guys hosting? Last time we led the server names with something like “Mudspike Fly-In”. If you have a v1.5.7 mission that you want to run on Hollo Pointe we can put it there and set you up to load it.

  52. I don’t have a dedicated server, but I can talk to someone who does. We don’t have missions in mind; haven’t thought that far ahead yet! If we can get more servers in the game, all the better!

    Edit: as far as missions go, I wouldn’t mind doing some buddy lasing with the Mirage, or some pure strike missions with the Viggen.

  53. Any idea if we’ll be looking at any joint missions like we did last year? My social calendar is filling up fast, and I’d like to know if there are any windows in particular I should keep open.

  54. Aginor says:

    Man I hope I can get my PC back up and running until then. I haven’t missed a fly in yet and don’t plan to.

  55. I’m hoping you’re there - I’ll gladly fly your wing again, and this year I hopefully won’t crash on takeoff.

  56. Aginor says:

    Haha yeah that surely was a happening last year! :smile:
    You can be my wingman any time. :slight_smile:

  57. miRage says:

    Right. I think I haven’t flown the M-2000C since that fly in. What a shame.

  58. Cib says:

    Just checking that no mods are required ? Also a link to skin packs apart from Homefries which I see above. My wife is off to Paris this weekend so good timing on her part :slight_smile: Although my son who is a notorious bandwidth thief is at home so my flights may be constrained in places. Looking forward to it last flyin I made was when we got L39 dual seat MP and spent lots of time being an observer :smiley:

    Oh and Teamspeak! Will we be meeting on Mudspike TS or will I need other TS Addresses

  59. Aginor says:

    Almost the same here. Prepare for a surprise since quite some systems don’t work the way they did anymore.

  60. miRage says:

    I guess I have some homework for the weekend then :slight_smile:

  61. These two missions have the latest v1.5.7 aircraft - The Highway and NAVEX.

    NAVEX
    Blue: F-15C, M-2000C, ASJ37, F-5E, F-86F

    The Highway
    Blue: A-10A/C, F-15C, M-2000C, Hawk, L-39C/ZA, Su-25A/T, AJS37, F-5E, F-86F
    Ka-50, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H; SA-342
    Blue & Red: Combined Arms

    The Hollo Pointe server will start with The Highway, and it will run until Blue takes over Novorossiysk or Red kills Blue at Gelen.

  62. Right

    2.x

    I still plan to be running a primarily 2.X server this weekend. I should have one, hopefully two large missions scripted all to heck with most flyable aircraft available. I plan to augment these with smaller, more focused missions if they become stale.

    1.5.8

    With the near totality of press materials being based in some variety of 2.X engine, I honestly didn’t consider the possibility that ED would release the Harrier on 1.5. Whoops. I’ve been focusing my limited time towards 2.1 missions, so I have naff all in the Caucus. I understand the Harrier is the new hawtness, so I’ll add it to a few of my existing missions and am unopposed to providing a 1.5.8 server if people desire. However understand that @BeachAV8R and @fearlessfrog don’t pay me enough to have the resources to run both simultaneously :smiley:, so it’ll be one or the other.

  63. Did i interpret that as a pay rise request?

  64. I might not make it this year either… Work.

  65. Aginor says:

    Since I cannot get my PC running in time I will try and run DCSW on my Notebook and maybe at least drop in for a while.
    I will only activate one or two modules on it, probably FC3 or so.

    And even if that doesn’t work for any reason I will at least come in and say hello on Teamspeak. I have not missed a fly in yet and don’t plan to. :slight_smile:

  66. Fridge says:

    I have my training mission in DCS 1.5.8 with 6 Harrier slots. I will send that to you today.

  67. Cib says:

    SRS is great and we use it nearly every flight on the 229th servers but its a real PITA when people have not got it set up for missions starting. Another layer of complexity :slight_smile:

  68. Oh good idea. Lets all fiddle with the knobs on the small console to the right for 45 minutes while the jet is sitting under us waiting to be flown. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    But if you are definitely going to be there Aero I will jabber on any radio system you want!

  69. The stars aligned and I should have a couple hours both Saturday and Sunday to join in!

  70. Aginor says:

    Installed both stable and beta on my Notebook and seems to run.
    Tomorrow I’ll try and install TrackIR and at least try out my simple Joystick. Beats flying with the Keyboard any day. :smiley:

    …but which modules should I activate?

  71. Hollo Pointe is up with v1.5.7 The Highway. We’ll be flying this one for a few hours, at the least. Stay low! Follow the four-lane to the coast. F-15Cs will trigger enemy AI jets at feet wet - F-15C drivers, you do this and you need to stick around to protect the rest of us. When an F-15C lands at Blue Gelen that will upgrade the air defenses there.

    Red Combined Arms could win this by capturing Gelen. But that’s not gonna happen tonight!

    The server name is ‘Mudspike Fly In Hollo Pointe’.

  72. Might not be able to make it, gotta long day of house cleaning tomorrow, I did re-arrange my little setup last night (or 4 Am this morning).

    But I have a lot of things on my list of To-Do’s at the moment, including DCS work.

    If anything I pop in tomorrow night for a bit.

  73. Walking this back a bit. Testing tonight shows the Harrier causes a bizarre freeze on my dedicated server, and without the harrier, I don’t see much point in 1.5.8 :expressionless:

  74. Fun on The Highway with F-15Cs. We wanted fast.

    Over the lake

    The four-lane

    Difficult land at Gelen

    Blue won the mission with Combined Arms. Tactical Commander Roidman led a Blue armor and air defense group into Novo that cleared the way for air forces to finish the job.

    From there we went on to the Kill Transports and Kill Fighters missions that are faster paced as they cycle every 45 minutes or so.

  75. Heh, I had to have a critical Hardware failure this weekend, didn’t I. :smiley:
    Have fun y’all!

  76. Aginor says:

    I got everything up and running now.
    Not ideal with the Notebook and a Sidewinder Precision Pro instead of a HOTAS but better than nothing.
    TrackIR is working flawlessly and I activated FC3 on this machine so at least I can fly the A-10A or the F-15C.

    Not sure if I have a lot of time to play because kids and stuff but going to try and at least be in the action for an hour or so.

  77. Cib says:

    I will jump onto TS later this afternoon and see if I can find someone to fly with :slight_smile:

  78. Hope to join in this evening…I’m on call and heading for the airport at the moment…

  79. I’ve got a pretty full weekend, but planning to jump on when able. Just to be sure, the servers are running the latest 2.x alpha and 1.5.8 beta? I’ve downloaded TS. Thanks.

  80. Aginor says:

    Fun little Night mission with the Av8B test Crew and friends
    @Bogusheadbox
    @Maclean
    @Freak

    I took some screenshots of the guys tanking and landing and so on, but unfortunately my image upload doesn’t work right now, the forum tells me there was some error…

  81. Freak says:

    I’m having the same problem, I made a new thread because I think it is neat for people to scroll through just screens and AAR stories without the coordination and other stuff that happens in this thread.

    link to the placeholder thread

    It looks pretty bad now but I’m hoping it will fill up with lots of screens while I sleep.

    Sorry I failed to make it. The Vietnam game is so addictive I just done 7 hour solid. See you tomorow instead :slight_smile:

  83. What happened?

  84. My HOTAS Warthog stick decided he needed to retire.
    Snapped in half.

    I seriously never seen anything like that before.
    I described my experience (or something like that) in the “Five Stages Something” thread…

    Luckily I retrieved my Microsoft Sidewinder Pro Force Feedback 2 from the basement and, albeit is SO light!, it’s still better than not flying with you all guys.

  85. Seeing these shots, and the harrier release… I hate working weekends :wink:

  86. Me too. On deck to make a maintenance run with one of our planes. I always laugh when I think about the irony “man…this real flying stuff is getting in the way of my virtual flying…”

  87. Aginor says:

    It sounds less silly if you say “my real world civil flying gets in the way of my virtual combat flying”

    Face it: 99% of the time your job is kinda boring. Although that is a good thing because when your job suddenly gets exciting that usually means something bad happened. :smiley:

    As I got ready last night I realised I only had OB installed. I went to roll it back to RC but it was 4Gb download so I skipped, sorry and I hope you all had a great time :slight_smile:

    Hey everyone!

    I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended or supported the 3rd Annual DCS Fall Fly-In this past weekend. I heard a lot of familiar voices and learned new voices that previously were only forum or community names. I know that a more people couldn’t make it due to real-life commitments but we can look (listen) forward to hearing those voices during the next event. :slight_smile:

    I would like to thank all of the server hosts and mission designers - an important role that often does not get the attention it deserves. I would like to apologize to @WreckingCrew and @near_blind for not taking part in their DCS World 1.5.7 and DCS World 2.1.1 efforts. I know that it is a ton of work to develop missions and prepare servers before hand and it was unfortunate, in this sense, that ED released 1.5.8 into OpenBeta with the RAZBAM AV-8B N/A to a community who are obviously hungry for that module. Also, thanks go to @Tankerwade and @Bogusheadbox (and @near_blind) for hosting the 1.5.8 OpenBeta servers as well.

    For everyone else, if you missed it the screenshots and AARs can be found in this thread: 3rd DCS Fly-In Screens & AARs thread. I hope that everyone had fun. If you have concerns, comments or suggestions, please send me a PM reach out to @staff account as we would like to hear the feedback and try to make things better.

    I hope to see you all at the next event! :f111:

  90. I had a great time - thanks to all that contributed! :mudspike:

  91. Yep thanks to everyone.

  92. Thank you to everyone who put the work in to this! Just sad I didn’t get to join in more (although not as sad as @komemiute :sob::joystick:).

  93. Aginor says:

    Well, boring or not, one thing is certain: you always have a great view from up there. :slight_smile:

  94. NEVO says:

    Even combat flying is boring 99% of the time. But this not applies on combat flying we did during the weekend :slight_smile:

    I stoped by only for a while but it was fun to see all the Jump Jets buzzing around.

    What bothers me is that there was no time for me to jump in my Fishbed and let you guys try some VIFFing :wink:
